If you follow any of our social media channels or have glanced fleetingly at our website, you will have noticed that something pretty special has been happening with the Newport County AFC Academy’s U18s team. They have excelled in their first ever season in the Merit League One, competing strongly against proven Category Three Academies. The Young Exiles are currently sitting top of the table and are the only undefeated team left in the league.
But that’s only half the story of the Academy…
The Academy has made fantastic developments throughout all the age groups and with its staff and scholars this Season. The players’ development has been excellent across all age groups which is proven by their success in big tournaments and registering significant results against teams like Swansea City AFC and Feyenoord Rotterdam.
During half time in tomorrow’s game, we will celebrating the excellent achievements of our Academy during the 2016/17 season with an Awards Ceremony. Please make sure you Support the Future of Our Club.
