EXILE LADIES | The Season Round-Up

12 April 2017

On Thursday 13th April, Newport County AFC Ladies will play their final game of the 2016/17 season against Aberdare Ladies.  The Exile Ladies currently sit 5th in the South Wales Women's & Girls' League Division 1 with 8 wins, 3 draws, and 8 losses.  A win on Thursday would be an excellent end to the season and would put them in a really good position to push on next season as they work towards promotion to the Welsh Women's League.

NEWPORT COUNTY LADIES ROUND-UP – By Goalkeeper Becky Smith

Newport County Ladies 2016/17 is a squad of around 18 players aged between 16-42. We have a range of abilities and experience in the team which all contribute to the performance and attitude of the group. We currently play in the SWWGL Women Division 1 and we are looking to be one of the teams to get promoted to the Welsh Women’s League. We have a long-term plan in place that hopefully sees us climbing the leagues and eventually playing against the high ranked teams in Wales and England. We believe that the team we have this season are more than capable of achieving this goal and representing the club in a positive and professional manner. Every training session we attend on a Tuesday, we work on elements of the game which we need to build on after analysing our previous match performance and look to improve our game so we become more consistent and prepare us for our next fixture.

Good luck in tomorrow's game ladies!
