NATO Summit in Newport

As you may be aware planning and preparation for the NATO Summit, which is to be held at the Celtic Manor, is well underway in Newport. The summit which will involve a huge security operation will see  a number of world leaders descend on Newport for the two day conference from Thursday 4th September.

With the event taking place just three weeks into the new season, we will see our fixtures between Wednesday 27th August and Tuesday 9th September moved in order to facilitate the summit.

Chief Executive Dave Boddy commented on the summit by saying "It will affect us and it's something we've been aware of for some time. Rodney Parade is locked down from August 27th to September 7th, so we know that we will be playing away from home on Saturday, August 30. If we are drawn at home in the Johnston's Paint Trophy in the following week the match will be moved to a later date. And the following weekend, when we will be playing at home, we will have our game moved from Saturday 6th September, to Monday 8th September."

Between this period the club office, shop and ticket office could also be affected and we will provide you with more information closer to the time. Keep an eye on the Newport County - Official website, Facebook and Twitter pages for more information.
