After scoring a hat-trick to help the Exiles earn their first league victory at Rodney Parade in over eight months, Oliver (accompanied by the match ball) told the press how his move to Newport came about and how he even had to fight to keep his hands on the match ball.
After joining on Thursday, the striker had to wait patiently to make his debut after being named on the bench, with Manager John Sheridan deciding on a front-two of Lenell John-Lewis and Zak Ansah.
Still goalless heading towards the hour mark, Oliver replaced Zak and managed to stamp himself on the game instantly, scoring his first goal just five minutes after being introduced.
"The gaffer said go on and try and make an impact, and I think I did!" said McBurnie
"I don't think anyone really expected me to come on today and get a hat-trick, including me, and I am a very optimistic person."
"It is nice to help the team and getting the three points is the most important thing, but to get three goals and the match ball along the way is not too bad either!"
"There was a bit of an argument in the changing room about whether or not I got to keep the match ball and I thought I was going to have to pay for it at one point!"
Speaking about how the loan move happened, Oliver relayed that the move had come at the eleventh hour, with Thursday's deadline for loan signings looming.
"I only really knew about the move on Thursday morning and it was all done quickly to get it all finished before the deadline at 5 o'clock."
"As soon as I found out that Newport wanted to take me on loan I was buzzing to come down and get some more league games and some more goals."
"I have had a good start to the U21 season at Swansea and now all I want to do is come here and score goals and help the lads out."
After only meeting his new teammates on Friday, Oliver was full of praise for his new colleagues, who have now extended their unbeaten run to nine games.
"If I hadn't seen the table before I came in, I wouldn't have said that this group of players are towards the bottom end of the table"
"All the lads are in great spirit and feeling confident. The gaffer said in the dressing room after the game that the thing that pleased him the most was that we looked like a good team, which you can't disagree with really."
"Luton aren't a bad team at all and I thought we fully deserved the three points. The aim is to get as high as possible in the table, and if we keep on getting results like today, I can't see why not."
