After joining Portsmouth as a ten-year-old, Dan made the progression through the Pompey Academy setup to sign a two-year scholarship in 2010.
After impressing during his time as a scholar, Dan signed progressional terms with the South-coast side in 2012 and made his debut in the League Cup shortly after.
A month loan spell at Havant and Waterlooville gave Dan experience of playing in the first-team and on his return to Portsmouth he managed to break into the side in January 2013, where he finished the 2013/14 season with seventeen appearances to his name.
After agreeing on a contract extension in the summer of 2014, Dan joined Aldershot on loan, where he made thirteen appearances before his loan was cut short due to injury.
After being released from Portsmouth at the end of the 2014/15 season, Dan joined Torquay United, where he went on to make over fifty appearances last season.
Dan arrived at Rodney Parade at the end of June on a two-year deal.
