
Ismail Yakubu is a former England Semi-professional international and the nephew of the former Portsmouth and Everton striker. He arrives at Spytty Park having been an integral part of the AFC Wimbledon team that clinched a place in the Football League last season, with a play-off final victory against Luton in which Ismail was one of the Dons successful scorers in the nervy penalty shoot-out. Originally from Nigeria, he was raised in England and joined Barnet as a schoolboy, making his Bees debut as a 17-year old whilst still studying for his A-Levels. He quickly became a huge favourite at Underhill, going on to make 297 appearances and scoring 15 goals, before he moved to AFC Wimbledon in July of 2010. A regular figure in their successful campaign, Ismail chalked up 27 games last season, scoring twice. Ismail has also spent a month on loan this season at Cambridge United.
