From Littleport to Newport is a trip that has been undertaken by defender or midfielder Tom, who began to attract firm interest whilst at Norwich City; having previously enjoyed spells at both Ipswich Town and Littleport Town. In 2008 he was voted 'Young Players Player of the Year' by his peers at Carrow Road, which resulted in him being whisked away to Glasgow Rangers after being highly recommended by former Canaries Assistant Manager Jim Duffy. Tom left Ibrox and signed for League of Ireland side Dundalk in February, 2010 and made his debut on 5 March. He quickly became a favourite at Oriel Park, making 32 appearances and scoring once before arriving at Spytty Park during the January transfer window of 2011.
