
Darryl started his professional career with Ipswich Town, making his Football League debut at the age of 16 and winning England Schools and Youth international honours. He played for Yeovil Town on loan in 2006-07 and joined the Somerset club the following season before a loan move to Cambridge United. It was not until he joined Kidderminster Harriers, initially on loan in January 2008 however, that he had regular first team football. He made 63 appearances as a creative forward in the Conference Premier for Harriers, plus another 30 as substitute, scoring nine times and joined County in July 2010, making a big impact with the fans during his first season in amber.
