Patten & Collins join Merthyr
Newport County AFC can confirm Kyle Patten and Aaron Collins have joined Merthyr on a month's loan that will see them through to the first week of February.The loan moves follow the news that Kyle Patten has extended his contract through until the end of the current season.
The Martyrs are currently 12 points clear at the top of the Evo-Stik League Southern Division 1 South & West.
Former County Player & Martyrs Manager Steve Jenkins said "We have had a busy month with a really tough schedule, something like 11 games in 39 days, and I have been looking to strengthen the squad to cover injuries, suspension, and players unavailability at certain times."
"It is not easy to find the right type of player for us, and I have been speaking to Newport with a view to taking some of their younger players on loan to gain experience that will also benefit us. I would like to thank their management team for giving this the go-ahead"
