On Sunday 1st May, Newport County AFC will be hosting a family fun day for everyone in the community at Rodney Parade.
The day will run from 9am in the morning to the early evening. The event is being run by the Junior Academy, County in the Community and Newport County AFC DSA along with support from Energize Radio.
On the main pitch the Junior Academy are giving the youngsters of Newport and the surrounding areas a chance to play on Rodney Parade 1stteam pitch.
There will be an opportunity to meet some of the first-team players and Spytty the Dog.
The Junior Academy will be hosting the following football packages for the day. Ages U7s (6 a side) & U9s (7 a side) 9 30 – 12pm. Ages U8s (6 a side) & U10s (7 a side) 12 30 – 3pm. There are twelve teams per age group (10 squad members max per team). Each team is guaranteed 5 games (12 mins). All players will receive a participation medal, as a souvenir for taking part in the day. There will be awards for the best footballing team & player of the tournament awards. County in the Community are going to deliver fun football sessions for all including;
Soccer Tots.
Football Skills– 7 to 16yrs.
Walking Football 50+yrs
NCAFC Ladies – Female only football sessions.
Football Challenges for all – Penalty Kick – Crossbar Challenge - Bucket Challenge.
Newport County DSA have organised the following activities for the day;
Hot and cold food
Dinky Donuts
Go-Kart Parties
Rodeo bull
Inflatable castles
Assault course
Toddler play areas along with sumo suits
Inflatable cactus hoopla
Electric buzzer games to be included.
Energize Radio will be hosting the We Fight Any Claim marquee with live entertainment for all of the families on site Live music will start at 12pm and will cover a range of music styles for all ages.
There will also be a sponsors vs Newport County AFC legends game taking place on the Rodney Parade pitch after the Junior Academy activities.
Admission £2 for Adults, children free.
