Following an induction meeting earlier, the newly elected Board held its first meeting on Wednesday evening. All directors were present.
The Board received a written message from the Team Manager expressing his positive hopes and plans for the season
The following appointments were made:
Group Lead Directors:
Operations – Gavin Foxall and Mike Everett
Policy Development – Charlie Hopkins
Finance – Malcolm Temple
Fan Engagement – Neil Collier
Membership – Simon Sadler
Commercial and Fundraising – Shaun Johnson
Community Development – Tony Pring
Malcolm Temple was elected as Chairman of the Owners Board with Gavin Foxall as Chairman of Operations (Football Club).
Each Group Leader will now move forward including seeking volunteer membership.
The Board noted the resignation of Jon Bowkett and that a further election would be necessary to select a replacement. It was agreed to put such on hold until the new arrangements had time to bed in and in the light of cost for a single appointment election.
A schedule of monthly meetings was agreed (This will be published).
It was decided that the aim for the Academy is to achieve Category 3 status and resources will be so provided.
The Budget and monthly cash flows were reviewed. These were prepared on a cautious basis and showed a broad break even for the year. Unlike previously, match income was based on a gate assessment for each match rather than a flat average. The Player Budget was in line with loan outs being used to balance.
On the Commercial front sales were proceeding at or above initial expectations including Season Ticket sales.
The action plan for early resolution of several employee issues was agreed.
Communications policy and practice were discussed and several improvements planned.
