More information about our College Programme, aimed at 16-18 year olds...

The programme is delivered over a two year period, in which each student would study BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport, which is worth up to three A-Levels and consists of 19 separate modules in relation to the core elements of sporting performance and excellence such as Anatomy, Physiology, Psychology, Coaching, Analysis and Technical and Tactical Development.

The boys will receive regular Futsal and Football coaching which is delivered by County in the Community staff, as well as representing Newport County AFC in the FLT Futsal League, South West Counties League and Welsh cup competitions. Alongside this each student has the chance to access additional qualifications as well as volunteering opportunities with County in the Community.

The programme itself offers a number of exit routes which are shown below:

  • Community Football Foundation Degree – University South Wales
  • Casual Coach opportunities – County in the Community
  • Possible opportunities to coach within our Academy / Development Centre
  • Coaching in America – Challenger Sports/UK Elite Coaching
