The Supporters Direct Cup and SD Shield are annual invitational competitions held between community-owned football clubs to celebrate the role fans play in owning and supporting their own football clubs up and down the country.
The trophies are sponsored by Supporters Direct and are kindly funded by fans from all over the country that helped raise the money to purchase them.
This year the Supporters Direct Cup has been renamed “The Brian Lomax SD Cup” in memory of the former SD Managing Director, considered to be the “founding father” of the Supporters Trust movement, who sadly passed away last year.
This fixture is a celebration of supporter-ownership and designed to show appreciation to the commitment and dedication of those fans who, like Brian, would brave the wet and cold of our British climate and travel hundreds of miles to support their clubs.
