Newport County AFC are delighted to announce that right-back Tyler Reid will be joining the Club on loan until the end of the Season.
Tyler Reid has an impressive CV for someone so young. Starting out at hometown side Luton, Reid’s talents were soon spotted by Arsenal scouts and he joined the North London side.
Aged 14, Manchester United came knocking and Reid moved North. He joined United’s scholarship programme and worked under the guidance of United Legend, Nicky Butt.
In 2016, Reid decided a move to South Wales was the next step for him and in 2018, having impressed in Swansea’s U23s side, Tyler is now ready to test himself in the Football League.
Reid is a quick, powerful full-back who likes to get forward as well as defend.
On completing the deal, Manager Michael Flynn said: “This is a big signing for us and only made possible by our close relationship with Swansea. Tyler was obviously brought up the Manchester United way so has a very high pedigree and I’m really looking forward to him showing what he’s got in his locker and helping us on our journey.”
