Newport County's longest serving player, Joe Day is a calming influence at the back.

Day began his career with Crystal Palace in 2007.  After spending time out on loan at a number of non-league sides.  He made his Football League debut in January 2014 in a 3–0 for Peterborough United.

Later that year, Day joined The Exiles on a one-month loan, making his debut versus Portsmouth on 30 August 2014. Following some impressive displays the loan period was subsequently extended to 28 November 2014.

In December 2014, Day joined the Club on a permanent basis and has recently signed a new two year deal keeping him at the Club until 2019.  An excellent shot stopper and a consistent and calm performer, Joe Day is a favourite among County fans.  

He's also an excellent ambassador for the Club taking on the role of DSA Ambassador and always willing to assist and support with Community Projects.  Day's efforts on and off the pitch have seen him crowned County's PFA Community Player of the Year for the past two season.
