The 34-year-old midfield player from Chatham, England began his career in 2002 with Kent based side Gillingham, where he went on to make 176 appearances for the side along with scoring 17 goals for the team. He then decided to move over to Peterborough for 2 months in 2008/09 where he then moved for Wrexham until the end of the season.
After leaving Gillingham at the end of that season, he was signed Brighton and Hove Albion where he was given the role of captain before their 3-1 win over Southampton and was later confirmed to be the permanent captain as of January 2010. However, in May 2010, Crofts made a move to Norwich City for the 2010/11 season in 2-year deal in which he bagged himself 71 appearances and 8 goals.
When he then resigned to Brighton and Hove Albion in August 2012, he made 77 appearances and also netted 6 goals for the Seagulls. He then moved back to Gillingham for 6 games towards the end of the 2015/16 season. He then left Albion to join Charlton Athletic at the beginning of the 16/17 season on a 1-year contract, here Andrew appeared 54 times for the side.
Then starting August 2017, he signed to Scunthorpe United on August 31st, 2017 on a 1-year contract before moving to Newport County on June 26th, 2018.
