Tom Owen-Evans

Date of birth

A product of the Newport County AFC, Tom Owen-Evans is "one of our own".

Tom signed his professional first contract with The Exiles in 2014 aged 18.  He only made a handful of appearances that season making his debut as a second-half substitute vs York City in April 2015.

After a successful loan period at Gloucester City, Tom returned to The Exiles as a promising young player with a point to prove.

Tom had a "coming of age" 2016/17 Season.  An impact sub at the beginning of the year, he went on to play a big part in the #GreatEscape scoring a wondergoal vs Exeter City FC and earning himself "Fans Man of the Match" four times in a row throughout March.

He is a dynamic, hard-working and creative midfielder who is just as likely to get stuck into the midfield battle as he is to create a spark of match-winning magic.

DID YOU KNOW: Tom had his first league goal struck from the records.  He scored a wonderstrike against Morecambe in December 2016 only for the match to be abandoned at half-time.
