A late Dean Bowditch strike sees the Exiles exit the EFL Cup...

Manager Warren Feeney named loan signings Jordan Green and Josh Sheehan on the bench, as Darren Jones was brought into the starting XI in replace of Jennison Myrie-Williams.

The game was only three minutes old when Jack Compton was forced off due to an injury and was replaced by Ben Tozer.

The Exiles started the game on the front foot and had a chance to take the lead when a chipped cross to the far-post by Sean Rigg was met by the advancing Jamie Turley, who nodded his header narrowly past the post from close range.

On the fifteen minute mark, Joe Day had to be alert to deny Ben Tilney, who launched a powerful effort on goal from distance that required the County shot-stopper to dive to his left to push the shot away to safety.

It was in the thirty-first minute when County took the lead, after a low cross from the left by Dan Butler was dispatched into the roof of the net by Marlon Jackson for his first goal for the Club.

The Exiles had an opportunity to add to their lead just prior to the break when a corner from the right was flicked towards the far post by Marlon Jackson and Jamie Turley was on hand to direct a powerful effort on goal that had to be tipped over the crossbar by Nicholls.

Into the second-half and there were early danger signs for County as Asante managed to find space on the edge of the area to fire a snapshot towards goal that sailed narrowly past the post.

The Exiles managed to extend their lead when they were awarded a penalty after the referee deemed that Williams had handled the ball in the area. Mark Randall stepped up and confidently slotted away the penalty against his former club.

The visitors were shortly awarded a penalty of their own when Ben Tozer committed a foul inside the area and substitute Dean Bowditch was on hand to convert the resulting spot-kick.

Just seven minutes later MK Dons were level when Ben Tilney was able to navigate a shot from the edge of the area to the top corner of the net and out of the reach of the diving Joe Day.

Loan signing, Jordan Green, was introduced in place of Sean Rigg and the young striker set up a chance for Mark Randall in the closing stages when he managed to pull back a cross to the midfielder on the edge of the area, who then side-footed his effort wide of the post.

In the ninth minute, MK Dons managed to grab a late winner when George C Williams managed to find Dean Bowditch just outside the County area, who was then able to fire home into the bottom left-hand corner.
