Midfielder Michael returned to his hometown club with whom he had began his career in the summer of 2012, following a fruitful career on his travels.  A local product of undoubted quality, his first stint with the Exiles saw him progress from academy lad to first team regular, before a switch to then full-time outfit Barry Town in 2000 where he plundered 40 goals in just two seasons.  A £70,000 move to Wigan Athletic duly followed in 2002 where he was part of the Latics squad that won the Division Two league title.  After a brief loan spell with Blackpool, Mike signed for Gillingham in 2005 where he netted 19 times in 97 appearances, before leaving for Blackpool two years later where he scored a further three goals in 26 matches.  Huddersfield Town was his next club the following season, during a stint in which he also spent a loan period with Darlington, before eventually signing for Bradford City in August of 2009.  Flynny notched ten goals in 97 appearances during his three years at Valley Parade, before that well received ‘return home’ in late July of 2012.  An integral member of the squad that restored league football to Newport, Michael racked up 44 appearances in amber last season, scoring twice.
