Newport County AFC has enlisted the help of the CMS Super Blotter to ensure everything is done to beat the weather and get the New Year's Day clash with Oxford United to go ahead at Rodney Parade.
The hi-tech machinery is often used at other sporting venues and the Super Blotter is a motorised water removal system for sports surface drainage and flash flood clearance.
The ground staff at Rodney Parade have been working on the pitch round the clock and the situation has vastly improved since Monday morning.
