Fleetwood Game OFF

7 February 2014

Tonight's game v Fleetwood Town off

After an early pitch inspection by a local referee assessor nominated by the Football League, the pitch at Rodney Parade was deemed unplayable for tonight's game against Fleetwood Town FC.

Many thanks go to the volunteers who were at the ground bright and early before 8:00am taking the covers off the pitch. The club appreciate all your efforts and Justin came over to show his appreciation on behalf of the staff and players.

Fleetwood Town's Chief Executive was pitch side while the inspection took place along with Justin, Jimmy Dack, Howard Greenhaf, Tim Harris and Dave Boddy. Despite a monumental amount of work from staff and volunteers the sheer volume of rain has rendered the surface unplayable.

The re-arranged date for the fixture will be announced once agreed between Newport County AFC, Fleetwood Town and the Football League.
