Newport County travel to Evesham United on Tuesday for the first of eight first team pre-season friendlies ahead of the opening day of the Sky Bet League 2 season.EVESHAM UNITED FC
County will travel to the Spiers & Hartwell Jubilee Stadium to compete in the Carl Lewis Memorial Trophy, played in memory of the late life-long Exiles supporter who had family in both Evesham and Newport. Most County fans will remember pre-season of 2012 which saw the Memorial Cup staged as the official opening of Evesham's home ground, the game that day finished in a 3-0 win for Newport County. The Robins finished in 16th place in the Calor League Division One South & West in the 2013/14 season and will provide an early test for Justin Edinburgh's men. One of the highlights of recent times for Evesham fans has to be the 2008/9 season, when they qualified for The FA Cup first round proper for the first time in their history, eventually going out to Torquay United 2-0 away from home.
NEWPORT COUNTY AFC
Justin Edinburgh will take a fully fit squad to Evesham on Tuesday, which could give fans a chance to get their first glimpse of new signings Yan Klukowski and Darren Jones in action. Following a good week of pre-season training Edinburgh's men will be ready to start their pre-season friendlies with a short trip to the home of The Robins. For those fans who travelled to Evesham back in 2012 will no doubt remember Andy Sandell's exquisite free kick that put Newport 2-0 ahead on that evening. Those Newport fans travelling to Evesham on Tuesday night may see a few new faces that are currently on trial mixed in with our regular first team players.

Leave M5 motorway at Junction 7 and follow B4084 through Pershore onto Evesham. At traffic lights in Evesham with the River Avon and bridge on left, take right hand lane and turn right into Cheltenham Road signposted A46, M5 Southbound, Oxford and Cheltenham. Continue through two sets of traffic lights passing Tesco Garage and Ambulance Station on left before reaching roundabout. Ground situated on right at roundabout. (This route avoids Evesham Town Centre)
FROM M5 SOUTH
Leave M5 motorway at Junction 9 signposted Tewkesbury and Evesham. Take 3rd exit signposted Ashchurch and Evesham. Follow A46 (Evesham) through Beckford before reaching roundabout on outskirts of Evesham. Ground situated on left at roundabout.
