Street Games project to help kids in Brazil
Newport County AFC has donated kit to Street Games UK as they embark on an ambitious project to coach those under privileged children in one of the World Cup host cities Curitiba during the tournament. In June 2014, we are taking 15 Volunteers to host-city Curitiba during the World Cup.
We will be working alongside the city’s football teams to deliver coaching projects alongside several building projects throughout the city.
We are holding significant talks with some major sponsors and are confident that the Brazil Legacy Tour will be able to replicate the success of South Africa 2010 on a bigger and bolder scale.
Huge community projects have already been scheduled, meetings with local politicians and dignitaries have taken place and the foundations are in place for Lionsraw’s biggest Legacy Tour yet. However, though the scale is grander, our ambitions remain the same; we will take with us the simple aim of engaging with as many young people as possible, to ensure that the World cup does not pass them by.
We will also be attending four FIFA World Cup games and will have a Newport County AFC Flag to display at the games.
