The book is a fascinating read and a must for all Newport County supporters. Another ideal Christmas present! Andrew said of the book, “Amberley Book Publishers contacted me asking if I was interested in writing a book for them on us! The most obvious subject was the fact we had completed our first centenary. We have already two great books published in 1973 by Richard Shepherd on our Diamond Jubilee and Tony Ambrosen 20 years later – so 20 not covered but tough acts to follow! The end product led to the company hugely increasing the original intended quality and that is very fitting – it is quality to follow County – and we should never forget that could have expired in 1989. I hope whoever does the next centenary book has the same problem I had i.e. how on earth do we keep the story a manageable length. If I’d been able to include all worth telling then it would be bigger than the Bible!”
