MATCH REPORT: Wolves

Wolves progressed in the Capital One Cup, after a spirited performance from County.

A tentative start by both teams was interrupted in the fifth minute, when a cross from the right by defender Danny Holmes was met by Scott Bodan, who glanced his header into the far corner.

County's lead would last just over ten minutes, striker Nouha Dicko guiding a cross side-footed into the far corner, that beat Joe Day via the post.

After equalising the home side looked to create more chances going forward. Conor Coady tested Joe Day from range, but the County 'keeper got down well to save and push the ball clear of danger.

County made it to the break level and had a chance to score before the break, when Mark Byrne squared the ball to Yan Klukowski at the edge of the area, who tried to place his finish but his effort ended up clearing the crossbar.

Into the second half and County enjoy spells of possession in the hosts half. Scott Barrow delivered a tricky corner, that 'keeper Emililano Martinez caught at the second time of asking.

The hosts took the lead from a penalty, conceded by Scott Barrow after a challenge in the area that looked dubious. Benik Afobe stepped up and dispatched the penalty to the right of Joe Day.

County had late chances to equalise and take the tie to extra-time. Scott Barrow delivered an in-swinging free-kick that home side struggled to clear and in the dying moments of the game Aaron Collins played a driven cross that the advancing Tom Owen-Evans directed towards goal, but Emiliano Martinez was equal to his effort.
