2nd (English Conference) – Rovers only finished a point behind the Conference winners Barnet at the end of last season but they were still able to clinch promotion via a penalty shootout in the playoff final at Wembley. They only lost five games all season and conceded less than a goal a game. This showed as they were in a playoff position from October onwards apart from an occasional slip to a position outside.Last season:

Matty Taylor – the twenty goal striker from last season will be hoping that he can be just as prolific this campaign to help the pirates keep their football league status. Key Player:

The objective for Bristol Rovers will be to try and survive their season back in the football league. I believe that they will struggle early on in the season but gradually find their feet in the division and perhaps secure their safety. A relegation battle will almost certainly be on the cards for the majority of the season and every game will matter for the pirates as they will constantly be looking over their shoulders at the bottom two.
