19Last Season:th– this was the lowest position that the U’s fell in the entire campaign and as a result they were never in any real danger of falling out of the football league however nor did they light up the league table as they only made the playoff places for a single game in September, and remained in mid-table for the rest of the season. Their biggest win came against Carlisle United when they were 5-0 winners at Abbey Stadium, but their biggest defeat came against Portsmouth, when the visitors ran away 6-2 winners.

Chris Dunn – the goalkeeper who was the hero on a Friday night in Cambridge keeping a clean sheet against Manchester United in the FA Cup. He kept 10 clean sheets in the season and conceded less than two goals a game. Newport only managed one goal in two games against the U’s.Key Player:

League 2 is going to be a very strong division next season with teams such as Wycombe, Plymouth, Portsmouth, Notts County and Newport in it, so it is very difficult to see how a side such as Cambridge are going to make huge strides up the division from their league position this year. That being said, as this is only their second season back in the football league, a target for Cambridge next season would be to improve on the 19Prediction:ththey achieved last year.
