COUNTY IN THE COMMUNITY DIARY - W/C 18th APRIL

15 April 2016

Weekly diary of the work that County in the Community do in the local and wider community.

This week will see County in the Community begin the Premier League Reading Stars programme with Year 3 pupils at Soffryd Primary School, Crumlin.


Below is the weekly diary for the County in the Community events, for the week beginning Monday 18th April.


Monday 18th April

School visits; Langstone Primary School, St Joseph’s Primary School,

St Joseph’s (after school), Sofrydd Primary (Premier League Reading Stars), Ysgol Bro Helyg


Community Football Hubs: Sessions targets at introducing girls into football. Newport Velodrome 4:30pm-5:30pm (Ages 7-11), 5:30pm-6:30pm (Ages 12-16). All sessions are £1.


Soccer Tots: 5-6pm (Ages 3-4) 6-7pm (Ages 5-6). Sessions take place at Rodney Hall and cost £3.


Walking football: 6-7pm at Llanwern High School, Sports Hall (Oct-May), 3G in the summer (May-Oct). Sessions cost £3 and are aimed at people aged 50+.


College Programme: The players are off to Dragon Park to take part in A Licence Assessments.



Tuesday 19th April 

School visits: Pen Y Cwm, Sofrydd Primary, Coedygarn Primary, Ebbw Fawr, St Woolos Primary School, Eveswell Primary School.


Community Football Hubs: Cwmbran Stadium, 4-5pm Girls session (Ages 7-11), 5-6pm Girls session (Ages 12-16) and a boy’s session 4:45-5:45pm (Ages 12-16). All sessions are £1.


Women’s Football: Newport County Ladies v Goytre United Ladies at Llanwern High School (7pm k/o).


College Programme: Welsh Schools Under 19’s Semi Final v Gower College


Match day visit: Caerwent Juniors & Malpas United Girls. Both groups will be meeting some of the County players and between them carrying out the Guard of Honour and Ball Boy/Girl duties. There will also be an opportunity for some of their group to have a half-time kick about by the North Terrace.



Wednesday 20th April 

School visits: St David’s Primary School, Rogiet Primary School, Greenmeadow (after school), Rhosyfedwen Primary


Community Football Hubs: Chepstow Lesuire Centre, girl’s session 3:30pm-4:30pm (Ages 12-16), 4:30pm-5:30pm (Ages 7-11), boy’s session 5:30pm-6:30pm (Ages12-16). All sessions are £1.


Futsal: Fixture versus Bristol City at the House of Sport, Cardiff.



Thursday 21st April 

School visits: Georgetown Primary, Beaufort Hill Primary, St Mary's RC Primary Alway Primary School (SEN Group), Llantarnam Primary School, George Street Primary School 


Community Football Hubs: Crosskeys College, girls session 4pm-5pm (Ages 7-11), girls session 5-6pm (Ages 12-16), boys session 6-7pm (Ages 12-16)



Friday 22nd April  

School visits: Crownbridge School, Monnow Primary School, Queen Street Primary, St Joseph's Primary 


Community Football Hubs: Tredegar Sports Centre, girl’s session 3-4pm (Ages 12-16), girls session 4-5pm (Ages 7-11), boys session 5-6pm (Ages 7-11)


Soccer Tots: Llanwern High School, 4:30pm-5pm for ages 3-6. Sessions cost £3.



Saturday 23rd April 

College Programme: South West Counties Fixture away to Poole Town FC.
