Last meeting

A 0-0 draw was played out a Rodney Parade in November the last time these two sides met. At the time Yeovil occupied one of the two relegation spots in League 2, Newport in 21st position with a four point cushion to Yeovil Town.

Last time out

County fell to a third defeat in a row on Easter Monday when Accrington Stanley travelled to Rodney Parade and took all three points after scoring two goals in three minutes towards the end of the first half. Top scorer Billy Kee was the first to find the net when he was left alone at the back post to slot the ball past Joe Day, and Josh Windass got the second a couple of minutes later when he was the first to get to a driven cross from the right hand side, leaving Joe Day unable to get down quickly enough to block the strike.

The Man in charge

Keith Hill is in charge for this fixture with his assistants Brett Huxtable and Steven Plane, the fourth official is Andrew Laver. Last season Hill was in charge of Newport’s home fixture against Southend United which County won thanks to a Mark Byrne goal fifteen minutes from the end.
