The Newport County AFC Academy received an early Christmas present recently in the form of a £1000 donation from the Smile Council.
The money was spent on equipment for all age groups and has already been put to good use.
Smile Council member Chris Thomas (Toggsy) said: "On behalf of all the Smile Council Committee we would like to give 'Special Thanks' to all Supporters who travel on Stav & Toggsy coaches to away games and give up their hard earned money to support the Newport County AFC Academy.
This helps to provide training equipment for all age groups throughout the Academy.
We would also like a special mention to go to Rob Phillips and his Company Pentagon Financial Solutions Ltd who made a generous donation towards getting this equipment.
We have supported the Academy for many years and with these special fans on board we would like this to continue for many years to come."
The Smile Council has raised over £20,000 for the Academy over the past 7 years and we really appreciate their continued support.
