Sky Bet Championship side Norwich City will join Newport County AFC, Cheltenham Town and Plymouth Argyle in Southern Group F in the EFL Trophy.
The Exiles discovered two of their opponents on Monday before the Canaries were placed into the group following the draw, which took place on Tuesday afternoon live on talkSPORT 2.
The EFL Trophy will be split into northern and southern sections with invited clubs joining Sky Bet League One and Two Clubs in each group.
Michael Flynn's side reached the semi-finals of the competition last season, falling to a 6-5 penalty shoot-out defeat against Salford City at Rodney Parade.
