The first major milestone in the transformation of the pitch at Rodney Parade was hit this week.
Our contractors, South Wales Sports Grounds, remain on-site and have now dug down to the lowest point required for the new pitch work.
Grading of the surface will now commence next week ready for the installation of a brand-new drainage system.
Floodlighting and Electrical Services have also completed the installation of new LED floodlights across the roof of both the Bisley Stand and Compeed Stand.
Jon Raymond, Facilities Manager at Dragons Rugby, said: "We’ve hit the first major milestone with digging now complete ahead of drainage work.
"The weather has been a lot kinder this week and, with a good forecast for the next 10 days, the team of contractors are really getting stuck into the project and remain on schedule."
