Louis Cartwright-Walls takes over the responsibilities of running of the club’s Media & Marketing department after a year and a half at the club.
Louis has been at the club since February 2022 where he volunteered as a club photographer for 3 months, he was then appointed as the Assistant Media Manager in the month of May that year, while studying at Cardiff Metropolitan University. Louis has now been promoted to Media & Marketing Manager after now completing his studies.
Louis, originally from Worcester, moved to Cardiff to study Photography at university and says he hasn’t looked back since, “South Wales is a fantastic place to live, I have always had a love for Newport since watching their fantastic cup runs on television over the years.”
Louis said this on the appointment “I am thrilled to make the step-up to the Media & Marketing Manager role at this great club, I have loved being a part of Newport County for the past year and a half and I look forward to seeing what the future holds, both on and off the pitch.”
The role covers all aspects of media at the football club, from the running of the club’s social media to using initiative in order to discover new revenue opportunities in collaborating with our commercial department through the use of marketing strategies online.
Club Director Joe Crocker said, “Newport County AFC are delighted that Louis accepted our offer as he has already shown the hard work and commitment that is required to succeed at our club. Even more pleasing is that Louis came through the staffing-ranks, starting as a volunteer photographer, then moving to a part-time role and now heading up our communications team. Louis has already made a good impression and has a great relationship with all departments at Newport County AFC. We all look forward to working with and supporting him in his new important role.”
It’s key that communication between the club and supporters improves and we aim to enhance this by releasing information pragmatically and in a format that is easily understood from a supporter’s point of view. There is an exciting season ahead for Newport County AFC and we aim to have a media profile that represents that.
