EDI Review
Our Commitment
At Newport County AFC, we are committed to creating an inclusive, welcoming and respectful environment for everyone – players, staff, supporters and community partners alike. We believe that diversity brings strength, and we stand against discrimination in all its forms.
EFL Equality Code of Practice
The Club were delighted to achieve the Bronze level of the Equality Code of Practice Season 2023/24 and Season 2024/25.
We are currently in the process of finalising our submission to the EFL’S Equality Code of Practice Season 2025/26, to further embed best practice across the Club.
Following significant changes to staff personnel over the last few months, we have been working hard to catch up on the requirements of the Equality Code of Practice, and are confident of achieving Bronze level once again for the 2025/26 season.
What We Are Doing
- Reviewing and strengthening club policies and procedures to ensure equality, diversity and inclusion are embedded in everything we do.
- Training staff, volunteers and coaches on EDI-related topics, including unconscious bias, inclusive language and anti-discrimination.
- Monitoring and improving representation across the Club, including players, staff, officials and volunteers.
- Working closely with County in the Community and supporter groups to ensure the Club’s work reaches and represents all parts of our local community.
- Encouraging open dialogue and feedback from our supporters and stakeholders to help us identify barriers and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensuring accessibility of our services, communications and match-day environment, and fostering an inclusive match-day experience for all fans.
