Andy Sandell - Captain
Justin Edinburgh announced in his weekly Thursday afternoon press conference that Andy Sandell will become Club Captain ahead of the 2014/15 season.On Friday afternoon we caught up with the Newport County AFC skipper:
NCAFC: "Hi Andy, Justin Edinburgh has confirmed that you're the Club Captain, how do you feel and what's your thoughts?"
Andy Sandell: "Yeah I wanted to be Captain, this is the longest I've ever been at a club so it feels like home and I enjoy it here, the lads are brilliant the Gaffa is brilliant and the staff are brilliant and it's just a good place to be and I'm very proud to be Captain of the Club."
NCAFC: "In terms of a Captain Role what duties do you have to undertake?"
AS: "You just have to lead by example and do the right things, try and get the rest of the lads to club together and do the right things, if theres any problems off the field with the boys I'll try to sort them out, it's important to keep everyone ticking over, happy and playing football."
