Re-seeding of Rodney Parade surface to begin
All the drainage work that was originally scheduled for the summer of 2013, but unable to be completed then due to continual collapsing whilst being excavated, have now been completed. The work has run a couple of days longer than first anticipated due to the torrential rain we had at the start of the works, last week.
Work has now begun on surface removal with a Koro Field Top Maker to strip the surface organic matter and remove all unwanted grasses such as shallow rooting meadow grasses whilst retaining deeper rooting perennial rye grasses. Surface removal also removes all contaminants such as weeds, algae and silt.
This will be followed by re-seeding and sand banding, which should be completed early next week, subject to the weather
