Chris Gadsby takes a look at tonight's opposition.
Venue: Molineux Stadium, Wolverhampton
Focusing on Newport
Newport have an opportunity to deal out one of the shocks of the first round, when they travel to Wolves this evening. After losing the first game of the season on Saturday against Cambridge United with only two shots on target, Terry Butcher’s men will be hoping that they can bounce back and give the Championship side a run for their money.
Looking at the home side
Championship side Wolves won their opening game at the weekend with a 2-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers. Goals from Benik Afobe and Dave Edwards gave Wolves the victory, placing them in sixth place in the second tier. They go into the game as firm favourites against County.
The journey to Wolves should take around two hours by car and there are two routes both approximately the same mileage and duration.
Route 1) M4, A449, M50, M5
Route 2) M4, M5
You can also get to Molineux by train by taking a cross country service to Nottingham, changing at Birmingham New Street and taking another cross country service towards Manchester Piccadilly, getting off at Wolverhampton. From there you can walk or take the bus to the stadium, a journey time of approximately two and three quarter hours.
