Chris Gadsby takes a look at our League Two opponents for the 2015/16 season......
Full Name:Leyton Orient Football Club
Nickname: The O’s
Founded: 1881
Ground: The Matchroom Stadium (Capacity 9271)
Record against County: No previous meetings
Last Season: 23rd (League 1) – Home was not a very pleasant place for Leyton Orient last season, only winning five games and drawing six over the course of the season. They managed to do the double over Oldham Athletic and bottom club Yeovil Town but suffered heavy defeats as well. They had been flirting with the relegation zone but found themselves in 18th with seven games to go but after going winless in those last few games they ended up relegated on the final day of the season. One win out of those seven would have seen them survive in the league at the expense of Crewe Alexandra.
Key Player: Darius Henderson – having moved to Leyton Orient from Nottingham Forest, the striker made quite an impact in his first season averaging a goal every three appearances. At 6ft 4in they will be hoping that he ca use his height well in the area to score some goals next season as well.
Fixtures: August 22nd (H) January 9th (A)
Prediction:Having just been relegated from League 1 Leyton Orient will be one of the favourites to get promoted again although football is steeped in history of teams struggling to cope in a lower division than the one they have just come from. That being said it is difficult to envisage Orient in the bottom half of the table and I believe that they will certainly be in the top half and it is likely that come next May they may well be in the top seven.
