Over 350 pupils take part in County in the Community's Football Festival.

The event took place at the Cwmbran Stadium and included various Primary Schools from the Monmouth, Torfaen and Newport areas.

The day included the pupils taking part in various football drills, which included goalkeeping exercises, shooting practice, dribbling technique and passing. After the coaching sessions, the pupils then took part in a football festival, playing small sided games amongst each school.

Community Development Officer, Norman Parselle, praised the Community coaches for putting on such a diverse footballing schedule for such a high number of pupils.

"County in the Community are all about creating opportunities for people all over the Gwent region."

"By running the festival today in partnership with the local authorities and their sport development units and the Welsh Football Trust, it has created a create chance for the pupils to come here and experience a good three hours of coaching and small sided games."

"We have been helped by a glorious day weather wise, but we have been supported by the teachers of the various schools who have been supportive of this event and have helped bring all the students here to take full advantage of this opportunity."
