ON THE ROAD| Our Journey Continues to Crawley

18 October 2018

Newport County AFC have a good recent record against Crawley Town.  Since Michael Flynn’s appointment, the Exiles have won three out of three against the side from Sussex and will be looking to make that four out of four on Saturday.

Centre back, Mickey Demetriou, will most likely be relishing the match as he looks to continue his extraordinary scoring record against the Red Devils.  He currently has four goals from three appearances against Crawley Town.  Impressive for a forward; frankly remarkable for a defender.

Should he be involved, Saturday’s match will also mark Scot Bennett’s 100th Club appearance since joining the Exiles permanently in 2016 so he will be looking to shine too.

However, the Exiles will certainly not have things their own way.  Since new manager Gabriele Cioffi took charge, Crawley have not lost a match at home and even took three points away from home at Lincoln.  Manager Michael Flynn warned against a tough match at the in-form side.

All in all, there are plenty of reasons to travel to Crawley on Saturday and that’s without even mentioning that the team are currently sitting third in the league.
