Chris Todd was very pleased with the team’s performance as they held Bristol City to a goalless draw.
Todd took charge of his fourth game with County where he has had an impressive start to his time as interim manager.
Speaking after the game, the manager was very pleased with the performance and was proud of the players with the amount of work they have put in as of late.
“We’ve worked hard. We’ve had a really solid week last week, building up to the game.
“We took the boys away, worked them extremely hard. They ran, they grafted, they got together, they got round each other and that’s what pre-season's all about.
“But I was really pleased with today. They’re top opposition and there’s no question about that.”
However, despite the result Todd believes that the team did enough today to win the game and should have done so.
“It was a good performance, but we probably should have scored a goal.
“We were very dominant at times and worked really well in our shape, which then gave us opportunities on the counter to go and attack them, and we were unlucky at times.
“But to come away with a draw is good and we’re pleased with it.”
Cameron Evans also returned and featured for the first time this campaign with the manager happy to see him back on the pitch.
“It was great to see him on the pitch. He’s worked hard with his injury.
“So it’s good to have him out there, another experienced player that we got and the squad is taking shape.”
To round up, Todd shared his thoughts on the upcoming fixture against Bath City.
“It’s a tough task for us again, now because you come away from an amazing environment, the pitch is immaculate.
“So we’re going to have to go and play against a lower opposition in the pyramid.
“But I can guarantee they’ll be trying extremely hard, and we’ve got to have the right mentality to go there and do all the things we’re doing, keep developing, keep progressing.”
