Newport County AFC are delighted to announce the signing of striker James Crole from Cymru Premier club Penybont for an undisclosed fee.
Crole, a powerful six foot-plus forward, 21, has fired 11 goals in his last 14 games at Bryntirion Park this term - 27 strikes in 46 matches since landing at Pen y Bont FC from current League One leaders Cardiff City during summer 2024.
The Welshman was a prolific scorer in the Cardiff Academy and got a first-team debut in a Carabao Cup tie at Blackburn two years ago last September.
Crole has penned a two-and-a-half year contract at Rodney Parade and, subject to FA of Wales and English Football League clearance, could make his Exiles' bow in the League Two clash at Gillingham this Saturday.
