Newport County has completed the signing of striker Ged Garner from Barrow AFC, subject to EFL approval and international clearance.
Garner, 26, arrives at Rodney Parade on a two-year contract having made over 150 league appearances across his career.
Having started his career in the Liverpool Academy, he eventually established himself in the youth team at Fleetwood Town. From there he progressed to the senior set up and made 75 appearances after early spells on loan at non-league Southport, Bamber Bridge, FC United and Gateshead.
After nearly seven years at Fleetwood, he made the switch to Barrow in January 2023 for an undisclosed club-record fee.
Having spent two loan spells at Morecambe the Liverpool-born striker, who as an 11-year-old scored 76 goals in a season to break a record previously held by Wayne Rooney, was keen to make a permanent move to Wales.

David Hughes said “Again this is another really good signing for us. He’s a player who can add to our top line and our link up play which will be important for us going forward. He’s an excellent professional who conducts himself the right way and I’m really pleased to have Ged on board.”
