Newport County AFC are delighted to welcome Paul Sugrue as a guest speaker in the Bisley Suite for Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two fixture against Grimsby Town.
Sugrue enjoyed a lengthy career in professional football, representing a number of clubs across England and abroad. After beginning his career with Nuneaton Borough, he went on to play for Manchester City, Cardiff City, Middlesbrough, Portsmouth and Northampton Town, before making the move to Newport County in 1986.
Sugrue later returned to Newport County, where he became a key figure during the club’s time in the Football Conference. During the 1988–89 season, he finished as County’s leading goalscorer with 14 goals.
Beyond his playing career, Sugrue also moved into management, taking charge of a number of clubs and continuing his involvement in the game.
Paul will be in the Bisley Suite from 1:45pm on Saturday, where he will speak to guests ahead of County’s meeting with Grimsby Town.
Bisley Stand season and match ticket holders can access the Bisley Suite before the game and enjoy £1 off pints between 1pm and 2pm, followed by 50p off pints from 2pm until 2:30pm.
These offers override any other drinks promotions available at the time.
