Newport County is pleased to confirm that former striker Garry Shephard will be the club’s special guest for Friday’s fixture against Crawley Town at Rodney Parade.
Supporters in both the hospitality lounge and BarCode will have the opportunity to hear from Garry, who enjoyed a successful spell with the club between 1999 and 2005. During his time at Rodney Parade, he established himself as a prolific forward, scoring 47 goals in 136 appearances.
Garry is also the father of current Newport County defender Liam Shephard, making the occasion an extra special one as the club welcomes back a familiar face with strong ties to the present squad.
Alongside his time at Newport County, Garry spent a significant part of his career with Merthyr Town, where he also went on to manage the club for a number of years.
