As we celebrate International Women's Day each year, we thank all of the amazing women in our Club who work, volunteer and support us.
This year we would like to highlight and celebrate one lady in particular who has been an incredible support to our Club over the last eight years.
Now, she is a familiar face to all of our players and supporters, and certainly an important part of our team here at Newport County.
Nicola Johns, in that pink bib, with an infectious smile, and huge camera lens hanging over her shoulder captures incredible memories for us here at the Club.
Having been an official club photographer since August 2017 where she photographed her first competitive game for Newport County against Crewe Alexandra in a one-all draw. During that time, it is estimated she has attended over 600 fixtures, both home and away.
Nic creates a gallery for the club’s social media pages, to ensure that fans who are unable to attend the game can see what goes on from a pitch side point of view, whilst providing a catalogue of memories for all! But why does she do this, and why Newport County?
Speaking about her journey with County so far, she said: "Being part of the County behind the scenes team has been an amazing journey.
"I've been blessed to work with some amazing people here but the one thing that has always stood out at Newport is the amount of superbly talented ladies we have working within the club from media, office, retail, directors to backroom staff.
"We really do lead the way in ensuring everyone has the same opportunities, development and support. Here's to us hoping we can continue to smash any remaining glass ceilings in football."
Next time you see her, make sure to give Nicola a wave and a smile for a picture. We thank her for her commitment and dedication.
