Supporters will have the opportunity to welcome back a familiar and much-loved face to Rodney Parade ahead of Saturday's Emirates FA Cup First Round fixture against Walsall, with former captain Joss Labadie set to feature in the East Stand Lounge.

For the first time since his departure from the club in 2021, Labadie will return to Rodney Parade, giving the Amber Army the opportunity to welcome back a player who holds a special place in the hearts of County supporters.

A firm fan favourite during his five-year spell with the Exiles, Joss became an influential figure within the squad, demonstrating passion, commitment and leadership throughout his time in amber and black.

Having joined County in the summer of 2016, Labadie quickly established himself as an important member of the side and played a significant role in one of the most memorable periods in the club's recent history.

He was instrumental in the famous 'Great Escape' during the 2016/17 campaign, scoring an 89th-minute winner against Crewe Alexandra in March 2017, as County began their fight for Football League survival. He was subsequently appointed club captain ahead of the following season.

Another unforgettable moment came during the club's historic Emirates FA Cup run in 2017/18, when Labadie produced an outstanding Man of the Match performance against Premier League Tottenham Hotspur at Rodney Parade.

His contribution to the club continued over the following seasons, as he helped lead County to two memorable League Two play-off campaigns, reaching the Wembley final in both 2019 and 2021.

Although promotion ultimately proved elusive on both occasions, those achievements remain significant moments in the club's recent history, with Labadie playing a key role in the journey.

His determination, fighting spirit and willingness to give everything for the badge made him a hugely popular figure among supporters, earning his place as one of the club's modern-day favourites.

Now, ahead of Saturday's Emirates FA Cup encounter, supporters will have the chance to hear from the former County captain as he returns to the club for the first time since his departure.
