Newport County return to League action for their second of three home games as County take on Colchester United.
The Exiles will be looking to continue their unbeaten streak at home whilst Colchester will look for their first win in eight games.
Here's everything you need to know about our opponents.
The Opposition
The U's finished in 12th last season as they ended their campaign on 66 points after an inconsistency of form throughout the season.
Colchester did get knocked out of the first round of the EFL Cup as they suffered a 1-0 defeat away from home to Oxford United.
Likewise, the U's were knocked out of the first round of the FA Cup after a five-goal thriller against MK Dons saw them lose 3-2.
However, this season Colchester have had a rocky start to the league as they sit in 19th with 10 points as well as being knocked out of the first round of the EFL Cup by Southampton.
The History
Colchester United were formed in 1937 after disagreements of Colchester Town becoming a professional club.
Two years after forming, Colchester won silverware as they topped the Southern League Championship. However, despite their hot form their progress would be disrupted by the Second World War.
But, in 1950 the U's would join the Football League, with their best finish coming in 1957 where the placed third in the Third Division.
For years to come, Colchester would bounce between the Third and Fourth Division between the 1960's and 1980's. However, during this time the U's would reach an FA Cup quarter-final but would be knocked out to Everton, losing 5-0.
But in the mid 1980's Colchester would be relegated from the Football League but would return in 1992.
Their return would turn out successful as by 2006, Phil Parkinson led the U's to a third-place finish leading the club to promotion to the Championship.
However, Colchester would only remain in the Championship for two seasons before being relegated and of recent years they have remained in League Two.
However, they have recently had cup glory as they defeated Tottenham Hotspur in 2020 in the EFL Cup.
The Head Coach
The current head coach of Colchester United is Daniel Cowley.
Cowley has had plenty of managerial experience managing the likes of Lincoln City, Huddersfield Town, and Portsmouth.
The Englishman started his career at Concord Rangers where he managed over 300 games over an eight-and-a-half-year period.
Cowley would then go and join Braintree Town before landing a job at Lincoln where he would get the club EFL football.
Colwey has won many honours with Lincoln, winning League Two, EFL Trophy and the National League.
Ones To Watch
Moses Sally has been off to a flying start since signing for the U's from Southampton. The 19-year-old has shown no fear since coming in having scored 3 goals and providing one assist in seven league matches. The midfielder will be hoping to extend his scoring run in the league to three with two of his goals coming from his last league match against Shrewsbury Town.
Jack Payne is another player to look out for, with the Englishman having plenty of EFL experience. Payne has already grabbed an assist this season as he has consistently put in good performances when he is needed and will be looking to score his first goal of the season on Saturday.
