Newport County play their final group stage game in the Jersey Subs Mike Trophy (November 3) as they welcome Crystal Palace Under 21s to Rodney Parade.
A win or draw will see County progress to the knockout stages, while Palace will need all three points to go through.
Here is everything you need to know about our opponents.
The Opposition
Crystal Palace U21's finished 10th in the Premier League 2 last season as they qualified for the knockout stages of the league.
After defeating Liverpool U21's in the round of 16, Palace were knocked out of the quarter-finals after losing 2-0 to Manchester United U21's.
However, in the EFL Trophy last season, Palace finished at the bottom of their group with one point, as they drew one game and lost two.
So far this season, Palace currently sit in 17th place in the League and sit in third in their Jersey Subs Mike's group table.
The Manager
The current manager of Crystal Palace U21's is Darren Powell.
Powell began his managing career in 2013 as he, alongside Paul Barry, took charge of Hampton & Richmond Borough.
However, in 2014, Powell was sacked but decided to acquire his A licence.
In 2015, Powell joined Palace's academy coaching team. And in 2023, Powell was appointed manager of Crystal Palace U21's.
Ones To Watch
Adler Nascimento has proven to be deadly up front this season as he has scored five goals in all competitions. Nascimento most recently scored a hat-trick in a 4-1 win against Leeds United U21's and will be looking to prove himself against a League Two club.
Despite having no goal involvements, Dean Benamar is someone who looks to cause trouble out wide. Benamar is very successful at putting crosses into the box and creating big chances, which he will be looking to do against Newport. The wide man recently featured on Crystal Palace's bench when they drew 2-2 to Besiktas in the Europa League.
Academy Graduates
Victor Moses graduated from Crystal Palace's academy in 2007 and went on to play for many high-end clubs such as Chelsea, Liverpool, West Ham and Inter Milan. Moses has also won AFCON with Nigeria as well as a FA Cup, Premier League and Europa League with Chelsea.
Club legend Wilfried Zaha also graduated from the academy in 2010 and spent 13 seasons at the club. Zaha has also gone on to play for Galatasaray, Lyon, Manchester United and Charlotte FC and has represented Ivory Coast.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka is also a graduate, as he graduated in 2018. The full-back spent two seasons at the club before joining Manchester United. Wan-Bissaka has also played for West Ham and, as of now, is on loan at Aston Villa. Wan-Bissaka has also represented DR Congo and has won the FA Cup and EFL Cup with Manchester United.
