Match Report | Undy AFC Vs Newport County

Undy Match Report

Newport County continued their pre-season campaign away to local club Undy AFC with a 1-0 win.

After some early pressure, Bobby Kamwa nearly capitalised from a goalkeeping error, but headed the ball just over the woodwork.

10 minutes later, Matt Baker's header edged over the bar alert a cross from Kamwa. And shortly after Baker-Richardson smashed the Undy post.

The Exiles continued to pile on the pressure throughout the second half as Undy remained resilient in their low block.

Half-Time

County continued to push from the start of the second half. Moses Alexander-Walker forcing the Undy keeper into a save from a Joe Thomas cross.

The Exiles finally broke the deadlock with a neatly placed header by Anthony Glennon header, from a Lee Jenkins cross.

The chances kept on coming with the Undy Goalkeeper forced into two saves from Glennon’s and Reindorf’s efforts respectively. Reindorf nearly doubled our lead but his shot scoped over the woodwork.

The post came to Undy’s rescue after Cam Evans’ cross nearly curled in from the right hand-side.

County continued to ask questions during the final moments of the match, but the score remained at 1-0.
